School of Leaders - June 11

Join us for our next School of Leaders on Saturday, 11 June, 9:30-12noon at St John Neumann, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston VA 20191   All are Welcome! 

  

We’ll be discussing the Foreword and Overview of “Spiritual Exercises for Church Leaders” by Dolores Leckey.  We will have copies for sale at the meeting for $8 or you can purchase a copy at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0809141639   

We hope to see you on Saturday, 11 June!  Please note that the School of Leaders will NOT be meeting in July.  Our next meeting will be Saturday, 13 August, 9:30-12noon at Good Shepherd Church near Mount Vernon, Alexandria.

Retreat for Seriously Ill & Diocesan Ultreya

The Retreat for the Seriously Ill will be held this Friday,  May 27 through Sunday, May 29 at the Dominican Retreat House, 7103 Old Dominion Drive, McLean.  It is a time of spiritual refreshment for those living with a serious illness.  Notes can be sent to a sister or brother in Christ to let someone know that we are praying for them.  There will be a serenade on Sunday morning at 8:30.  Bring flowers to share with the participants. 

Please join us at the Diocesan Ultreya at St. Charles Borromeo, 3304 N. Washington Blvd. Arlington on Saturday, June 4 after the 5:00 pm Mass.  I hope to see some of our new cursillistas from March and April.  It is also an opportunity to invite someone who might be interested in making a cursillo in the future.  Fall weekends will be September 22-25 for women and October 6 -9 for men at San Damiano in White Post, VA. 

Retreat for those Facing Serious Illness

 Retreat for those Facing Serious Illness being held at Dominican Retreat House on the Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29).  Prayfull letters to the retreatants are greatly appreciated as well as attendance at the Serenade on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.  Donations of food/snacks can be delivered to Dominican anytime on Friday or Saturday.

Diocesan Ultreya 6:15 pm June 4

St. Charles Church, 3304 No. Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA  22201. There is a 5 PM Mass at St. Charles directly before our meeting, if you'd like to take advantage of that.  Please plan on joining us.  Invite any new cursillistas you know, or anyone you think might be interested in Cursillo.  It is a great time to see old friends, make new ones, listen to great music, and discover how Christ has been working in people's lives.  Bring a snack and/or a beverage to share.  For more information, please contact Carol Poplin at carol.poplin2@verizon.net or 703-243-7621.

Help needed in Missionhurst Kitchen!

Help is needed!! The cook at Missionhurst is going on vacation on May 9 until the end of the month. A cook is needed to shop and prepare dinner each night from May 9 until May 31 for 7 people. Please contact Father Mike Hann at 703- 528-3800.
